Beloit police arrested a man in a pair of shootings and an armed robbery in Beloit over the weekend.
Beloit police say in a Facebook post that officers showed up to a shooting call in the 1700 block of Royce Avenue on the city’s east side shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, and found two homes there struck by bullets.
At about midnight on Sunday, as officers were still investigating the shootings, another call came across on an armed robbery with a person being assaulted in the 1300 block of Kenwood Avenue on the city’s west side.
Police investigators learned 45-year-old Maurice Citchen is suspected in both the east-side shooting and the west-side armed robbery.
Police say when they found Citchen, he had what authorities call a “minor” gunshot wound. Police arrested Citchen. His injury remains under investigation.
Citchen faces charges of felon possessing a firearm, recklessly endangering safety, armed robbery, battery, disorderly conduct while armed, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, and parole violation.
