The best tasting tap water in the entire country resides in Janesville after the city’s utility department took home the people’s choice award at a recent national conference.
Water Utility Superintendent Craig Thiesenhusen says part of the success is due to the fact that the reservoir where the water comes from is all well water and is in good condition so they don’t have to treat it, unlike other city’s where they have to run it through a water treatment plant.
Thiesenhusen says the City recently attended the American Water Works Association’s annual conference and exposition in California.
The over 11,000 conference attendees voted on their favorite H2O before awarding the City of Janesville the people’s choice award.
Thiesenhusen says Janesville has won awards for having the best-tasting water in the state in the past, but this is the first time they’ve brought home a national award.
