Rock County Board signs off on letter of intent to purchase new Sheriff vehicles

The Rock County Board has signed a letter of intent approving the purchase of up to ten new vehicles for the Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff Curtis Fell says they try to keep the vehicles they use 24/7, 365, in the best possible shape, but stretching them beyond their life span could put deputies at risk.
Fell says they’ve looked at reducing the amount of squad cars in the past, but that won’t work, so they’re asking for nine new Chevy Tahoes and one Ford F-150 pickup truck totaling roughly $580,000.
County sales tax would be used for the purchase of the vehicles.
