Beloit teen accused of terrorizing family

A Beloit teen is accused of assaulting his mother, attempting to light his grandmother’s hair on fire, and threatening to kill his four-year-old sister.
17-year-old Kaleb Lervik is charged in Rock County Court with physical abuse of an elder person, battery, intimidation of a victim, and two count of disorderly conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, on Saturday Lervik became upset with his mother because she wouldn’t give him money to by marijuana. Lervik is accused of pushing the woman to the ground and taking her cell phone when she threatened to call police.
He’s also accused of lighting a lighter and brining the flame near his grandmother’s head repeatedly. When she tried to call police he took her phone, striking her in the jaw in the process.
Police say Lervik told his young sister he would drown her in the sink.
Lervik made his initial appearance in Rock County Court this week where Court Commissioner Mason Braunschweig gave him a signature bond.
