Rock County Court Commissioner Jack Hoag says he’s never seen a stalking case of the magnitude, complexity, and attention to detail as the one 47-year-old Shawn Ross of Janesville is accused in.
Hoag set cash bond at $500,000 at Ross’ initial appearance in Rock County Court Tuesday on charges of stalking, identity theft, and mail theft. It was twice what prosecutors argued for.
Assistant District Attorney Margaret Ginnocchio said Ross has been relentlessly stalking the victim, logging her daily movements, listening in on her conversations, tracking her via GPS and surveilling her residence.
Prosecutors say Janesville Police are still sorting through a significant amount of logs and documents that were recovered from Ross’ residence and additional charges are likely forthcoming.
Ross is due back in Rock County Court for an adjourned initial appearance on July 23rd.
