A Rock County Judge wants more information before sentencing an Evansville man who plead guilty Thursday to charges related to an incident last year where he brought a knife to a local daycare.
53-year-old Dewayne Harnack’s attorney Joshua Grube made the case for waiving a pre-sentence investigation.
As part of a plea agreement, Judge Jeffrey Kuglitsch found Harnack guilty of over a half dozen charges including first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
Instead of following the terms of the agreement and giving Harnack five years of probation with a year in jail, Kuglitsch ordered a PSI and set sentencing for October.
According to the criminal complaint, Harnack brought a knife to the daycare operated out of United Church of Christ in Evansville last August and threatened to stab his ex-wife over a dispute about money.
