Workers from Alliant Energy are able to return the favor so to speak.
Alliant Spokesperson Tony Palese says 71 employees, including some from Janesville, just returned from helping to restore power in northern Illinois where 25 confirmed tornados left 430,000 ComEd customers in the dark.
Palese says Alliant was able to get some mutual aid of its own when crews from Madison Gas and Electric and private contractors came to town to help restore power in the wake of the June 22nd tornado.
During major restoration events, mutual aid partnerships enable energy companies to bring in additional workers and equipment as needed to safely restore power for all affected customers.
