The 23-year-old Beloit man accused of pointing a gun at the security guard for a town of Beloit bar after being thrown out for claiming to be in the cartel, and asking permission to sell drugs is bound over for trial.

Oscar Meija Umana had his preliminary hearing in Rock County Court Monday on charges of second degree recklessly endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, and carrying a handgun where alcohol is sold and consumed.

According to the criminal complaint, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Toxic Bar in town of Beloit after receiving a report of an armed subject.

A deputy made contact with the security guards who had detained Mejia Umana on the ground. They indicated that Mejia Umana had been asked to leave and that he returned from the parking lot with a gun, at which point they tackled him.

A firearm was located on the ground.

Meija Umana is currently being held in the Rock County Jail on a $2,000 cash bond.
