About 30 percent of the solar blocks Alliant Energy is leasing at its community solar project in Janesville remain available.
Spokesman Chris Caporale says Moraine Park Technical College in Beaver Bam recently joined JP Cullen as an anchor tenant.
Moraine Park Technical College also invested in Alliant’s first community solar garden in Fond du Lac which went online in 2022.
Caporale says the program allows electric customers to subscribe and benefit from solar power without installing solar panels on their property.
Rock County is leasing the land for both a customer-hosted project and the community solar garden to Alliant Energy and expects to receive both lease payments and renewable energy credits from the dedicated facility.
