A $20 million grant from the Environmental Protection Agency could go a long way toward redeveloping the JATCO site adjacent to the former GM property in Janesville.

Economic Development Director Jimsi Kuborn says the City aims to apply for a $20 million Environmental Justice Community Change grant from the EPA.

Jimsi Kuborn says the EPA requires that the grant be used on a “clean” site which would include the former JATCO haul away yard adjacent to the former General Motors assembly plant property.

The City of Janesville and its community partners are hosting three community feedback sessions to gather input from the public. They will be September 4th at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. September 10th and 11th at 5:00 p.m. at the Rock County Resource Center.
