Beloit School Board rejects November referendum question

layout-1

The Beloit Board of Education leaves the door open for April while closing the window on a November referendum question.

During a special meeting on Friday board member Megan Miller made the motion to draft a referendum question and it was seconded by Aimee Leavy.

That motion failed on a four to three vote with Miller, Leavy, and Gregg Schneider in favor. The nay votes included Johnson, Brian Anderson, Tom Hankins, and Brian Nichols.

Board members were concerned that although there is a need, there simply hadn’t been enough community outreach over the summer to get a question passed.
