Authorities say a house fire on Janesville’s east side Tuesday has left a family displaced.
The Janesville Fire Department says they were called to a fire in the rear of a home at 759 Fremont Street shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Firefighters say the residents evacuated the house with no reported injuries. Fire crews used a water hose to put out the fire.
The house has extensive damage. The residents are displaced but are staying with family members while the home is under repair.
Janesville fire officials are investigating what caused the fire.
It’s the fifth fire in Rock County in as many days, and the second day in a row that area fire departments have battled house fires in near-triple-digit heat.
The temperature Tuesday in Janesville topped out at 99 degrees.
