A registered sex offender accused of leading police from two local agencies on a chase back in April takes a plea deal in Rock County Court.
According to online court records, 40-year-old Sean May of Janesville plead guilty to two counts fleeing police in a vehicle. Additional charges of fleeing, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, two counts of obstructing an officer, carrying a concealed knife, and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed but read into the record.
According to the criminal complaint, police in Janesville first tried to stop May for reckless driving.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office eventually joined the pursuit, using tire spikes and a PIT maneuver to stop May in the 4100 block of South River Road.
May was on probation at the time and is a registered sex offender for a conviction of possession of child pornography in Pierce County in 2004.
On Tuesday Judge John Wood sentenced May to a total of two years in prison and two years of extended supervision.
