The 46-year-old Beloit man found guilty of hiding the corpse of a 37-year-old Beloit woman in July of 2023 is sentenced to four years in prison.

At Lawrence Parker’s court trial last November, Medical Examiner Dr. Vincent Tranchida testified that in addition to a large amount of cocaine in her system, Judy Sprigler had an injury to her neck that he was still waiting for testing on.

Parker testified that he and Sprigler had smoked an unknown drug together and when he woke up she was dead. He said hid her body in tall grass off Turtle Town Hall Road because he was afraid of being wrongly accused in her death.

In addition to the prison time, Judge John Wood sentenced Parker Monday afternoon to three years of extended supervision.
