Flu season is apparently turning into COVID-19 season too.
According to the Rock County Public Health Department, hospitalizations due to COVID-19 are on the rise.
The Health Department says there were six hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in July, 26 in August, and 13 so far this month.
SSM Health Family Medicine Physician Dr. Jacob Tabor says fortunately the vaccines are effective; and remain the best way to protect yourself.
Dr. Tabor says you can get your flu shot and your COVID booster at the same time.
Tabor says if you do think you have COVID-19, it’s important to get tested and avoid coming into contact with people who may be high risk.
