Each year the Blackhawk Technical College Foundation awards the IDEAL Opportunity Scholarship which includes full-tuition coverage, a faculty mentor, a stipend for living expenses, and two paid internship opportunities.
This year the recipient is 2024 Clinton High School graduate D’Angelo Vernon.
Vernon is a full-time student in the criminal justice program who will participate in paid internships with both the Janesville and Beloit Police Departments.
Paulsen says the IDEAL Opportunity Scholarship is designed for students who are economically challenged and come from underrepresented communities.
