The 25-year-old Janesville man accused of robbing the Kwik Trip on South Highway 51 last month and then immediately using the money to buy drugs is bound over for trial.

Last week in Rock County Court Kodee Long waived his right to a preliminary hearing on a charge of armed robbery.

According to the criminal complaint, Janesville Police were dispatched to the gas station on the south side of Janesville just after 1:00 a.m. on August 15th.

An employee reported that the suspect implied he had a gun and demanded cash, claiming his daughter was sick.

Rock County Sheriff’s Deputies used a drone to conduct surveillance and observed the suspect enter a trailer at the Jacobs Mobile Home Park. Officers stopped a drug dealer that was seen leaving the trailer and identified Long as a suspect after reviewing the driver’s text messages.

Long is currently being held in the Rock County Jail on a $1,000 cash bond.
