Janesville police are investigating a complaint of a possible inappropriate relationship between an employee and a student at Craig High School.
Police Lt. Jennifer Seeger said a school staff member reported the possible relationship to police Wednesday.
No arrests have been made.
School district spokesperson Patrick Gasper says the staff member who is the subject of the investigation is on administrative leave and that their access to school district resources has been blocked.
Neither Seeger nor Gasper provided further information, citing the ongoing investigation and student privacy laws.
Other Craig teachers have faced consequences for their interactions with students this year.
Two Craig teachers resigned earlier this year after an investigation into inappropriate relationships between the teachers and students. One admitted to sending suggestive photos of herself to a student. The other admitted to sending flirtatious messages on Snapchat.
Another former Craig teacher and coach, Brian Kitzman, was sentenced to prison in May after pleading guilty to secretly recording students in a locker room.
