The 27-year-old Beloit man accused of drunkenly crashing his vehicle into a yard full of people waives his right to a preliminary hearing in Rock County Court.
According to online court records, on Friday, Court Commissioner Jack Hoag bound Joshua Amundrud over for trial on charges of operating while intoxicated causing injury, knowingly operating a motor vehicle while suspended, and seven counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
According to the criminal complaint, a family of seven was in the yard of a home on the 900 block of Vernon Avenue in Beloit just after 4:30 the afternoon of April 26th.
Amundrud is accused of crashing his vehicle into the yard, striking one person. The victim suffered a broken leg. Six other people were lucky enough to flee the path of Amundrud’s oncoming vehicle.
Beloit Police say officers found empty vodka bottles and an empty beer can in Amundrud’s rolled SUV.
Amundrud is currently being held in the Rock County Jail on a $2,000 cash bond.
