Janesville man waives preliminary hearing in child pornography case

scales-of-justice-3

A 35-year-old Janesville man is bound over for trial in Rock County Court on four counts of possession of child pornography.

According to the criminal complaint, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in June of 2023 about 11 videos of child sexual assault materials that were uploaded to a messaging app from an IP address in Janesville registered to David T. Neumann.

A detective reviewed some of the materials and found at least four videos that contained children being sexually assaulted by adults

Rock County Judge Jeffrey Kuglitsch issued an arrest warrant for Neumann in November of 2023, but he wasn’t taken into custody until last month.

According to online court records, last week Neumann waived his right to a preliminary hearing and plead not guilty to all four charges.

He’s currently being held on a $2,000 cash bond.
