Beloit’s Plan Commission will consider a zoning change for a developer planning a multifamily housing development.
The planned site is at the corner of Gateway Boulevard and Eagles Ridge Drive, just down the road from G5 Brewing Company.
Site drawings show seven buildings that would contain 92 one-, two- and three-bedroom townhome-style apartments.
The project is characterized in documents from developer The Alexander Company as “workforce housing” for households earning a maximum of $63,000 a year.
Included in the materials for the Plan Commission meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, were more than two dozen emails and letters to city officials.
Most expressed opposition to the plan, citing concerns with depreciating home values, increased traffic and more.
