A confrontation between two men after one saw the other leave his girlfriend’s apartment leads to gun and drug charges.

30-year-old Martel Croft of Beloit is accused of pointing a gun at a victim who had been visiting Croft’s girlfriend at her apartment.

The girlfriend rushed the victim out of her apartment shortly after midnight Oct. 5 and when he left, Croft followed him in his car. The two eventually stopped and confronted each other, which is when the criminal complaint says Croft pointed the gun in the victim’s face.

The man flagged down a Beloit police officer afterward, and officers went to the girlfriend’s apartment.

A search yielded a safe that belonged to Croft. Police obtained a warrant to open the safe and found a gun, cocaine and marijuana.

Charges against Croft include second-degree recklessly endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, pointing a gun at another, and possession with intent to deliver THC and cocaine, all as a repeater.
