A convicted sex offender from Beloit is charged with new child sex crimes in federal court.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 49-year-old Jody Behlke is charged with possessing child pornography.
The indictment claims that in May of 2023, Behlke possessed a tablet containing visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct. At least one of the victims appeared to be less than 12 years old.
If convicted, Behlke faces a minimum penalty of 10 years in prison and a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
According to the Wisconsin Sex Officer Registry Behlke was previously convicted of possession of child pornography in 2005 and 2007.
