Voters will have a chance to meet state Assembly candidates this weekend at the Janesville Farmers Market.
The League of Women Voters has invited the four major-party candidates running in the 43rd and 44th Assembly districts to the league’s tent at the market from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The 44th District covers most of the city of Janesville west of the Interstate plus six townships in central Rock County. Democrat Ann Roe is running against Republican Bruce Danielson for that seat.
The 43rd District covers the portion of Janesville east of the Interstate; the cities of Milton, Edgerton and Whitewater; and eight townships in three counties. Incumbent Republican Scott Johnson is defending the seat against Democrat Brienne Brown.
League President Lisa Johnson says her nonpartisan group had trouble coordinating with the candidates for a typical voter forum so opted for an informal meet-and-greet at the farmers market.
