The 28-year-old Janesville man who stabbed two Walgreens employees seemingly at random back in May is committed to a state mental health institution.
According to online court records, Edward Toyer plead guilty Tuesday to two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide. Judge Karl Hanson found him guilty but not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.
Up until this week Toyer was being held in the Rock County Jail on a $1 million cash bond.
Judge Hanson ordered Toyer committed and transferred to a state mental health facility.
A sentencing hearing is planned for January 17th to determine how long Toyer will be committed for.
