A 31-year-old Janesville man accused of shooting at a victim multiple times during a domestic disturbance before leading police on a 14 mile chase has his day in court.

According to online court records, following a three-day trial, a Rock County Jury found Sergio Morales guilty of two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, fleeing an officer, and operating a firearm while intoxicated.

Janesville Police say officers responded to Center Avenue around 4:00 a.m. last October for a report of gunshots. An investigation revealed that it was a domestic disturbance.

The suspect, identified as Morales, fired a handgun at a victim “multiple” times. The victim left, but Morales followed them to the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and South Chatham Street, where he fired “additional” shots.

When officers arrived, Morales led them on a chase throughout the city.

Morales is scheduled to be sentenced on January 31st.
