Due to high winds, and dry conditions, the Janesville Fire Department is issuing a temporary burn ban.
Fire Marshal Nathan Simmons says that means no campfire pits, outdoor cooking devices, and recreational fires.
Any previously issued campfire burn permits or prairie burn permits during the ban are also not allowed.
Simmons says the ban will remain in place until further notice. He’s hoping the winds will die down and possible rain (Wednesday) evening will provide some relief.
