The Rock County District Attorney’s Office confirms that a 22-year-old Janesville woman who was shot to death in April was pregnant with her second child by her murderer.
23-year-old Logan Barclay plead guilty Friday in Rock County Court to a single count of first-degree intentional homicide as domestic abuse.
The District Attorney’s Office says Barclay lured the victim (Kiersten Hansen), who was pregnant with his child, for a walk on a nature trail, shot her in the stomach, and then left her for dead.
While the charge carries a mandatory life sentence, the defense will be free to argue whether Barclay will ever be eligible for supervised release. The District Attorney’s Office says it was argue for life without the possibility of parole.
Barclay was being held in the Rock County Jail on a $1 million cash bond, however Judge Kuglitsch revoked that bond on Friday. Sentencing is set for February 11th.
