Janesville’s Ann Roe wins a state Assembly seat.

Roe, a Democrat, won 17,335 votes in the 44th Assembly District to beat Republican candidate Bruce Danielson, who garnered 13,370 votes.

The 44th District includes most of the city of Janesville west of Interstate 39/90, the village of Footville, and the towns of La Prairie, Rock, Janesville, Plymouth, Center and Porter.

Roe had the endorsement of Sue Conley, the departing 44th District representative, and beat Janesville School Board member Cathy Myers in a Democratic primary last summer. Danielson ran unopposed in the GOP primary.
