One person is hurt in a residential fire northwest of Janesville. Lakeside Fire Rescue officials say firefighters were called to a single family home in the 6600 block of North River Road about 10:30 p.m. Thursday. The first to arrive found smoke coming from a bedroom of the single story structure. Officials say the residents had escaped before firefighters arrived, but one did need to be transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The fire was contained to the bedroom. The cause is under investigation.
