The Department of Natural Resources is suggesting citizens give the wild turkeys that have take over downtown Janesville a wide birth.
Wildlife Biologist Jason Cotter says like many other species of wild birds, turkeys are finding their niche in the urban landscape.
Cotter says the turkeys are finding an ideal habitat with a plethora of food offerings like acorns and bird feeders.
Cotter says to stay a good distance away from the birds as they have long spurs and can flap and cause some damage.
