A 31-year-old Janesville man who was accused of holding hostages in a house on Riverside Street at gunpoint, and then returning to threaten the same victims again after making bail has his case dismissed without prejudice.

Derrick Stevenson had faced four counts of false imprisonment with use of a dangerous weapon, five counts of second-degree recklessly endangering safety with a dangerous weapon, and four counts of intimidating a victim.

Prosecutors say a key witness in the case that would be able to prove Stevenson’s guilty cannot be located.

Although that case was dismissed, Stevenson is still being held in the Rock County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond in a separate case where he’s charged with creating a disturbance on the Kwik Trip on Humes Road and then fighting with officers who came to arrest him.
