A homeless man from Beloit stands mute to charges of second-degree sexual assault, false imprisonment, substantial battery, and disorderly conduct.
50-year-old Anthony Chancy Sr appeared in Rock County Court last week for his preliminary hearing where Court Commissioner Mason Braunschweig bound him over for trial and entered not guilty pleas on his behalf.
According to the criminal complaint, Chancy followed a woman home from a convenience store in the beginning of October and invited himself into her home.
Chancy refused to leave, and would beat and sexually assault the victim on almost a daily basis. He’s also accused of taking money from her paycheck.
The victim was eventually able to call 911 when Chancy stepped outside.
Chancy is currently being held in the Rock County Jail on a $75,000 cash bond.
