A 20-year-old Freeport, Illinois, man who was arrested in March following an hours-long standoff with police in Clinton takes a plea deal in Rock County Court.
According to online court records, Dayvon Davis plead guilty Thursday to possession of a firearm by an out-of-state felon and second-degree recklessly endangering safety. Additional charges of resisting an officer and theft were dismissed but read into the record.
Judge Jeffrey Kuglitsch sentenced Davis to five years in prison and five years of extended supervision.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim called 911 and told them Davis had pointed a handgun at her and threatened to kill her before having a standoff with police and eventually surrendering.
