Beloit police are trying to facilitate an unusual reunion.
In a Facebook post, police say employees at a Beloit movie house found an urn with ashes left behind in one of its theaters in late September.
The theater turned in the urn to police in October after waiting a few weeks for someone to come back for it, but no one ever did.
Beloit police spokeswoman Sarah Lock says they’re not sure how or why the urn came to be in the theater, but the department is focused on returning it to whom it belongs.
