The Janesville man accused of killing two people in a drunken driving crash in August has his $1 million cash bail reduced to $500,000.

Koty M. Diaz, 32, is charged in Rock County Court with two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, two counts of homicide by use of a vehicle with prohibited alcohol content, two counts of knowingly operating while revoked causing death, second-offense operating while intoxicated and operating with a prohibited alcohol content.

According to the criminal complaint, Diaz had a mostly empty bottle of booze in the console of his black SUV and a cannabis vape rattling around on the floor when he blew a red light shortly after 2 a.m. on Aug. 17.

Authorities say Diaz slammed into another vehicle at Delavan Drive and Beloit Avenue in Janesville. The two occupants of the other vehicle, Wayne W. Caswell, 70, of Janesville and Gretchen A. Walbaum, 52, of Elkhorn, were killed.
