A Janesville man is accused of a fifth operating-while-intoxicated offense and hit-and-run.
According to the criminal complaint, Hector J. Boissonneault, 48, was spotted speeding on Parker Drive near the Memorial Drive bridge and ramps.
When an officer tried to pull him over, he accelerated and took the ramp onto eastbound Memorial.
Police eventually caught up with Boissonneault and the driver of another car near the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Walker Street, near Adams Elementary School.
The other driver said Boissonneault sideswiped her as he merged onto Memorial from the ramp from Parker Drive.
Boissonneault refused sobriety testing, but police say he showed signs of impairment and an empty malt liquor bottle was found in his car. A blood draw was taken after a warrant was issued.
Court commissioner Jack Hoag gave Boissonneault a $5,000 cash bond Tuesday.
