The April Janesville City Council election begins to heat up.
There are four seats up for election this spring which are currently held by council president Dave Marshick, Richard Neeno, Heather Miller, and Michael Jackson.
Marshick filed a declaration of non-candidacy with the Clerk-Treasurer’s office over the weekend. Neeno, Miller, and Jackson all say they intend to run.
Two newcomers have also thrown their hats in the ring. They include Jack Herndon and Michael Cass.
Marshick was first elected to the council in 2021 and was elected president in April after former president Paul Benson didn’t seek re-election.
