Authorities say Janesville police continued to investigate a late-evening shooting on the city’s west side, although as of late Tuesday, police hadn’t released details.
A supervisor at Rock County’s 911 Communications Center says as of 10 p.m. Tuesday, police were still on scene investigating a shooting reported a few hours earlier around 7:31 p.m. at 333 N. High St. just north of downtown.
Police as of 10:15 p.m. had not responded to a Big Radio request for details, but investigators were still on the scene at that time.
Police haven’t confirmed if there were injuries, although local residents commenting on a Facebook public emergency scanner hobbyist’s thread late Tuesday said police were telling people in the area of the apparent shooting to “shelter in place” as police responded to the situation.
Big Radio will update this report as more information is available.
