The School District of Janesville unveils a timeline for capital referendum work.

District Chief Financial Officer Dan McCrea told the school board’s Finance, Buildings and Grounds Committee on Tuesday that the first batch of projects will roll out in summer 2025.

These include interior security enhancements at Craig and Parker high schools and roofing work at Washington Elementary, Franklin Middle and Rock River Charter schools.

Beyond next year, the district has divided work into three bid packages to be addressed starting in June of 2026, 2027 and 2028.

The first buildings up under that schedule include Lincoln, Jefferson and Wilson elementary schools, the high schools, and the Educational Services Center. McCrea says the district split up the bid packages to cost about $50 million each.

The second bid package includes Madison, Monroe, Adams, Roosevelt and Washington elementary schools. The third bid package has the Chestnut House; Rock River Charter School; Jackson, Kennedy, Van Buren and Harrison elementary schools; and all three middle schools.
