A group of former fire and EMS workers with 150 years of firefighting experience in the stateline area has organized an open community meeting to discuss the state of South Beloit’s fire and EMS department.
The town of Beloit in Rock County took over providing emergency services in October.
Jack Redieske, one of the meeting organizers, says there have been issues with transparency and execution in the months before and after the contract took effect.
The meeting will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, in the auditorium at South Beloit High School. Redieske says people who live on either of the state line are invited to learn more and join the public discussion about the move.
Redieske says he does not expect South Beloit elected officials to attend.
