A man charged with attempted homicide after a shooting in Janesville last month is in police custody. (Tim Seeman)
Police arrested Deonte Foster, 41, of Janesville after serving a search warrant at his apartment in the 300 block of North High Street on Friday night.
Also arrested was Cerissa A. Cleveland, 35, on a pending charge of harboring a felon.
Prosecutors accuse Foster of shooting a man who lived in the same apartment building, leaving the victim hospitalized in critical condition.
According to the criminal complaint, a witness told police that after Foster shot the victim, he yelled at him for knocking on his door.
The witness also said she and the victim had previously bought crack cocaine from Foster.
Police say they are no longer seeking suspects in the case.
