Authorities say a Rockford resident is in jail in Rock County after he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl.
Janesville police say 28-year-old Edward Diaz faces counts of second-degree child sexual assault, enticement and for giving cannabis to a child after officers arrested him shortly after 7 p.m. Monday at the 2300 block of Harvard Drive.
Police say Diaz had just finished having sex with the juvenilve when officers showed up. The female was uninjured. She was turned over to family.
Diaz is in jail pending a court hearing.
