Police say Beloit man kidnapped a woman twice at gunpoint to try to force her into prostitution

Cash bond is set at $250,000 for a 27-year-old Beloit man accused of kidnapping an pistol whipping a woman twice at gunpoint in an attempt to try to force her into prostitution.

Latres Robinson is charged in Rock County Court with multiple counts of kidnapping, false imprisonment, and first-degree recklessly endangering safety.

According to the criminal complaint, on December 10th, Robinson showed up at an apartment where the victim was hiding in a closet, punched her more than a dozen times, and drug her away by her hair.

Robinson is accused of taking the victim out to the country and pointing a gun at her, making her beg for her life. Eventually he drugged her and took her to an aunts, and then his sister’s house.

When the victim finally got away, she made contact with the FBI who put her in a hotel room in Illinois.

On December 20th the victim was driving when Robinson began following her. He rear-ended her vehicle, pistol whipped her, and dragged her to his own vehicle before driving off. He apparently pulled over and let the victim out when he realized her friend was following them.

In 2017 Robinson was sentenced to seven years in prison for armed robbery. Additional charges that included false imprisonment were dismissed but read into the record.

In 2023 Robinson was sentenced to two years in prison for manufacture or delivery of cocaine. Additional maintaining a drug trafficking place charges were dismissed but read into the record.
