The Janesville Fire Department is hoping to double or even triple people’s chances of surviving a heart attack by implementing an app that notifies people who are nearby so they can begin CPR even before paramedics arrive.
Lieutenant Lance Prokopec says they are turning to the community for support to help launch the Pulse Point pre-alert notification system.
Prokopec says one it’s launched the app will be open to all residents of Rock County, although they’d like people to get certified in CPR first.
Anyone wishing to make a donation to help cover the $10,000 cost of launching the program, can get in contact with the Janesville Fire Department.
