Bond is set at 25-hundred-dollars for a Rockford man accused of beating a woman and headbutting a police officer in the city of Beloit.  Prosecutors say police were called out during the early morning hours of April 26th to 614 Broad Street on a report of a male beating up a female in the back entrance of an apartment complex.  A person at the scene showed police a video of Gerald Antonio Vaughan hitting a woman and knocking her to the ground.  Vaughan had left the scene and returned that same morning when an officer spotted him in a vehicle. Two officers tried to arrest him, but Vaughan resisted.  During the struggle, he headbutted one officer in the forehead and bit the side of their face.  Vaughan was eventually arrested on multiple charges, including battery to a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer and domestic abuse.  Both officers involved were treated at the hospital for injuries.
