The couple who stole a vehicle with a toddler inside before abandoning the young child on the side of the road in freezing weather take plea deals in Rock County Court.
According to online court records, 27-year-old Kristopher Klein plead guilty Friday morning to taking and driving a vehicle without consent, abandonment of a child, and fleeing police. Additional charges of abduction of a child, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, and three counts of bail jumping were dismissed but read into the record.
Judge Barbara McCrory sentenced Klein to a total of three years in prison and five years of extended supervision.
Last month, 23-year-old Neanni Bowman plead guilty to abduction of a child and abandonment of a child and no contest to two counts of bail jumping and two counts of disorderly conduct.
Judge McCrory withheld her finding of guilty on the first two charges as part of a felony hold open agreement and sentenced Bowman to two years of probation and 90 days in the Rock County Jail.
