The Children’s Museum of Rock County gets a big financial boost. Officials announced in a news release, Janesville natives Steve and Marlene Bysted are pledging $1.5 million, and a $500,000 matching pledge to the project. Children’s Museum Board President John Westphal calls the gift a huge boon for the project. Westpahl says if the matching campaign is completed, the Bysted’s generosity will have garnered $2.5 million, taking the fundraising campaign total to the $14.5 million range. The CMRC Foundation announced last month it has completed the purchase of 100 West Milwaukee street, the former First National and Chase Bank in downtown Janesville, and future home of the museum.
