City of Beloit holds public meeting on how to spend ARPA funding

The City of Beloit invites the public to share their two cents on how $15.2 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding should be spent.
Director of Strategic Communications Sarah Lock says the funds will be distributed in two equal installments, the first was received in July and the second will be received in July 2022.
Lock says says the money needs to be used to support public health expenditures, address negative economic impacts caused by the public health emergency, replace lost public sector revenue, provide premium pay for essential workers, and invest in water, sewer, and broadband infrastructure.
A public meeting will take place on Monday, September 27th at 6:00 p.m. at Beloit City Hall.
Lock says City staff will give a brief presentation before taking public comments.
