Another shooting in Beloit marks the Rock County city’s third violent attack this week. It has left a juvenile with gunshot injuries, police say.
Beloit police are investigating the second shooting within three days on the city’s east side.
They say officers were called to the 1500 block of Porter Avenue a little after 4 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a person with gunshot wounds.
Police confirmed in a Facebook post that the person shot was a juvenile.
Police say the shooting does not appear to be a random act of violence.  The victim’s injuries weren’t life-threatening.
Beloit police have wrestled this week with a shooting on the west side that sent one person to a hospital, and they’re investigating an apparent violent attack that ended with an officer fatally shooting a person they said was rushing at someone else with two knives. Both those attacks happened Sunday.
Beloit Police Chief Andre Sayles and a city of Beloit spokesperson have not responded to WCLO inquiries this week on a spate of violence that’s played out in Beloit recently. The violence includes two shootings that have wounded people, and another shooting that left a person dead and a juvenile under arrest on suspicion of involvement in the death.
